PENNY and Munch have teamed up: saving food against waste
PENNY is taking another step towards sustainability, as from April 17, 2023, the supermarket chain will join the Munch food rescue platform. After the launch, environmentally conscious customers can get surprise food packages at a minimum 50 percent discount price in two stores in Budapest. After the three-month test period, additional units can be involved in the initiative.
PENNY is constantly working to ensure that awareness and sustainability play a prominent role not only in its product range, but also in its operations. In line with this aspiration, the Hungarian supermarket chain signed a cooperation agreement with the Munch online platform to jointly act against food waste. Starting on April 17, customers can choose from three types of munch packages in the PENNY stores on Lehel tér and József körút in Budapest. The offer will also include fruit and vegetable, dry goods and mixed surprise combinations, which are available at a discount of at least 50 percent compared to the original value of the products. Thus, by purchasing these, customers can not only prevent food waste, but also save significant amounts of money during shopping.
