The oldest trick
Employing pretty girls in restaurants is perhaps one of the oldest tricks. Well, you could call the trend that started two or three years ago a somewhat sexist premiumisation of street food: a growing number of street vendors are accompanied by a selection of pretty girls – called roti ladies – who prepare and serve food to customers in provocative, sometimes frivolous outfits, as if they have just come from a party and joined the family business. Yes, this can be a competitive advantage.
