Farmers are being prepared for the new support period on a nationwide basis

The head of the ministry emphasized that in order to inform the farmers, experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy (NAK) are touring the country, most recently István Nagy reported on the important changes required by the European Union due in the period up to 2027 to the farmers of Kalocsa and the surrounding area. He added that the aim of the department is for producers to learn about the possibilities and conditions by April, the date of submission of uniform applications.

István Nagy explained that at these forums, farmers are told about the most important news that affects them, the main criteria for using subsidies, and they also have the opportunity to ask their questions. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and the NAK also prepares village farmers and advisers, to whom farmers can safely contact, and they also publish informative materials and videos, and the agricultural support system will have its own website, where interested parties will be able to access all important information. The minister stated that they stand by the farmers with all possible means, they will do everything in their power to get the information to as many producers as possible. The stakes are high, since a total of 1,340 million euros in direct area and animal-based support can be requested under five legal titles with the unified applications that can be submitted in the spring.

A lot of money depends on preparation

The head of the ministry also spoke on his social media page about the fact that financial support for farmers is ensured, as part of the KAP Strategic Plan, HUF 5,377 billion will come to finance Hungarian agriculture until 2027. The focus of the Plan is on agricultural and food industry developments and encouraging generational change. It is essential that farmers make an informed decision in 2023 and have a thorough understanding of the support elements in order to take advantage of these historic opportunities. This amount of resources has never been available to agriculture before, I am confident that we will close a very successful period of support.
