MAGOSZ and NAK start touring the country
The Association of Hungarian Farmers and Farmers’ Cooperatives (MAGOSZ) and the National Chamber of Agricultural Industries (NAK) are traveling the country to inform Hungarian farmers about the planned termination of area-based subsidies.
The European Commission would abolish area-based subsidies, tie the payment of agricultural subsidies to rule of law requirements, thereby taking money from Hungarian farmers. All this in order to prepare for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and to allow unlimited entry into the European Union of agricultural products that do not comply with EU rules – wrote István Jakab, MAGOSZ, and György Zsolt Papp, president of NAK, in a joint Facebook post on Thursday. The leaders of the professional organizations emphasized: They are facing serious debates in Brussels, but they count on the support of not only farmers, but also consumers who demand healthy, European food. MAGOSZ AND NAK will go on a tour of the country in the next few days to discuss the current situation with the farmers, they will visit all the counties of Hungary, where they will inform the farmers about the situation that has developed, which affects them deeply, they announced.
