Russian pork embargo: The EC calls for the decision of WTO

The European Commission calls for the decision of World Trade Organization (WTO) to establish that is it legal that Moscow prohibits the pork and live animals entering into Russia – the European Commission told on Monday.

Moscow imposed a total ban, claiming that in January swine fever was found in boars in Lithuania and Poland.

Brussels turned to the WTO in April on the matter, but according to the Monday released announcement the EU-Russia negotiations have not been successful yet. (Konsiczky Zoltán, MTI)
