Research by Orbit: Hungarian young people experience microstress moments an average of 26 times a week
Numerous studies have already established that Generation Z is much more stressed than previous generations of a similar age. In the past decade, they have been hit by many sources of stress, wars, the drastic increase in the cost of living, the economic crisis, uncertainty and the unpredictable future, as well as the impact of digitalization processes on social relations, have all greatly contributed to this trend. According to Orbit’s latest generation Z survey, active working women living in the city struggle with the most stress, but students (34%) and those with secondary education (48%) are among the frequent stressors (who perceive an average of 5 micro-stresses per day).
90% of young people have already experienced microstress during their lives. Most people feel this in connection with minor disputes, housework or deadlines, mostly in their own homes, but school and the workplace are also at the top of the list as a source of microstress. Surprisingly, 35% of frequent microstressors identified themselves as the cause of the stressful situation, while the same number blame the family and a little less (33%) strangers.
