Viktor Orbán: a thousand people and more than two hundred machines mobilized to reduce drought damage
Five billion forints had to be mobilized to reduce the damage caused by the drought, about a thousand people had to be assigned, while more than 200 machines are also working, digging gutters, canals and repairing sluices so that there is water – Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Friday in the Kossuth radio program Good morning, Hungary!.

We have good specialists, we have plans, we have to get through this summer now – he stated.
Viktor Orbán also reacted to the idea that would abolish the free use of water for farmers
The Prime Minister said that the people proposing this are “people living in a bubble” and have no connection with reality. “We have the same problem with Brussels as we have with the gentlemen’s children here in Buda on the Tisza”, they live in a bubble, they don’t know reality – he stated. They sit in Brussels and say that it is good if things have a market price – he emphasized. It is indeed good, but farmers in Hungary, for example, cannot pay for water because they do not have that much money – he pointed out. In such cases, it is not necessary to hide behind textbooks, but to say that there is a specific case, that we need to help here and now – Viktor Orbán stated. Then it does not matter what the gentlemen from Buda or the people from Brussels read in their textbooks, in such cases we have to start from reality – he argued. He added that water should be given to farmers cheaper, if possible free, “even if Brussels is turned upside down”. He said that they would always find a legal way for farmers to have access to water for free, because this is a key issue for Hungarian agriculture and their personal lives.
