Self-service cashers at a Tesco in England
Tesco came up with a surprising novelty: The first store in England, where self-control, bar code based control occurs has opened; therefore there is virtually no need for cashiers.
In the Northampton store – opened a few days ago – there are no cashiers virtually. The five desks only supervised by only one store worker.
According to the chain, the automatism significantly speeds up the sales and makes more effective. The opponents of the system, however, fear that with the spread of the new mechanism hundreds of jobs could be at risk – reports pénzcentrum.hu.
