Marks & Spencer Plans Big Spend Into Online Markets
One of UK's biggest retailer will spend £450m on IT and technology over the next three years, pushing into international and online markets to ease its reliance on the ailing UK retail environment.
The plan will replace their older
warehouse and distribution infrastructure with an integrated
logistics network with new overseas warehouses, as well as offshore
stockholding facilities. The company's motivation for the
modernisation with its online business, M&S Direct, is due to
growth of 70% a year, accounting for £300m in sales.
