VAT reduction in Slovakia
From January, the Slovak state reduces the Value Added Tax (VAT), however the few eurocents will hardly be noticed by the majority of the customers.
According to Robert Fico Prime Minister the government later may continue to expand the range of products with lower VAT. According to the law adopted last year, from the first of January tax on ten kinds of food products were reduced from 20 to 10 percent. The products include fresh and cooled pork, beef, poultry, rabbit, sheep and goat meat, freshwater fish, milk, butter and bread. The VAT reduction also applies to imported foodstuffs.
