A cheap German store chain has opened another Hungarian store
A Travel Free Shop has recently opened at the Horgos road crossing, which does not offer tax- and duty-free products, but nevertheless offers quality products at competitive prices. According to the Szabad Magyar Szó article, the store also offers special sweets, drinks, perfumes, bags and watches.
Jovan Ostojin, the head of the store, said that the prices can remain competitive thanks to the company, which already operates more than forty stores in the territory of the European Union, so they buy in large quantities, which allows for favorable prices.
The store, which is German-owned, is the first time they have opened a store outside the borders of the European Union. The store was chosen for this location because it does not require a passport to enter for customers from Serbia. Hungarian, Serbian and English-speaking staff are available to customers in the store.
Customers can find a wide range of products from perfumes to sunglasses to jewelry, and can buy them at prices up to 30-40 percent cheaper than elsewhere. What makes the store particularly attractive is the range of unique alcoholic drinks and sweets that are not available in other stores in Serbia.
