In Italy, retail sales decreased
After August, retail sales in Italy also decreased in September compared to the previous month, according to the data published by the Italian Statistical Office (ISTAT) on Wednesday.
In September, the value of retail trade in Italy decreased by 0.3 percent, following the 0.4 percent contraction recorded in August.
Sales of food fell by 0.2 percent, and sales of non-food products by 0.5 percent.
The volume of retail sales fell 0.6 percent in a month after a 0.5 percent drop in August, indicating weakening consumer demand due to inflationary pressures.
