Italy is one step ahead of the EU
The European Commission will investigate whether EU-wide ban can be used on plastic shopping bags, while proceedings are brought against Italy because, a ban was introduced on shopping bags in Rome.
“The intention is there, the question is, what shall we do in this case” – said Monica Westeren, spokesperson of the Environment Protection General Directorate of the European Commission. According to the spokesperson; the Commission will carry out a detailed cost- and impact study over the possible ban on plastic bags – reports Világgazdaság Online.
