OKSZ: retailing continues to grow this year
The National Trade Association (OKSZ) expects a further growth in retail sales, but at a slower pace.
According to data of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) published on Wednesday, retail sales rose by 7.7 percent in January, compared to a year before. As the result of the post-Christmas sales, the sales of non-food manufactured goods increased by 11.1 percent pulling up the total sales. According to the data, the household consumption is increasing for the nineteenth months consecutively.
The OKSZ forecasts that the online cash register system and the ekáer (electronic control system for road freight) will pull the retail traffic upwards, but the effect of the Sunday store closure will be adverse. (MTI)
