The Hungarian Maltese Charity Service and SPAR Hungary are supporting tens of thousands of people in difficult situations through the cooperation of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service and SPAR Hungary. In addition to the Adni Öröm! fundraising campaigns, the chain of stores supports the work of this highly public benefit organization with regular support every month of the year.

“For SPAR Hungary, as an important player in the commercial sector, supporting social causes is an important part of its corporate culture. The Hungarian Maltese Charity Service has been our strategic partner in this for almost 30 years, with which we can now provide assistance not only during the holidays, but also every month of the year through our own donations and the cooperation of our customers. We also try to help in unexpected situations such as this year’s flood, where we supported those involved in the defense, including the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service, with food donations,”

– said Márk Maczelka, Head of Communications at SPAR Hungary.

“The cooperation between SPAR Hungary and the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service brings predictability and security to our charitable activities, and the decades-long cooperation provides a stable background for our tasks among people in need. The relationship is multifaceted and much more complex than simple support, as SPAR has been an active participant in our programs that create opportunities for fallen people from the very beginning, while also providing valuable and continuous assistance to the Maltese Charity Service’s daily work,”

said Tamás Romhányi, Head of Communications at the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service.

As part of the strategic partnership, more than 50 SPAR stores directly donate vegetables, fruits, baked goods, and non-perishable food to the organization on a daily basis. Last year, SPAR handed over almost half a million kilograms of food that was withdrawn from sales but still suitable for consumption to the Charity Service, from where it reached people in need.
