Chairman of Tesco says stay calm
Tesco does not expect to see anything more than short-term shortages of certain products as customers stockpile over coronavirus – John Allan, the chairmain of Britain’s biggest supermarket chain told BBC on Thursday.
John Allan, also the president of the business lobby group the CBI, told BBC Radio there was plenty of product in the supply chain and shoppers did not need to panic buy.
John Allan said that while there is a real demand for certain products, such as handkerchiefs and hand sanitizers, it is not yet a level that the company’s supply chains cannot afford. (portfolio.hu)
