Western Europe eats ducks rather than geese
The consumption of geese products decreased, partly due to the discrediting campaign of the Four Paws, partly because of the crisis in Western Europe.
More and more customers are buying duck products instead of geese, so the Hungarian breeders also developed the duck breeding more this year.
According to the Poultry Product Concil; a slight surplus will soon be developed in the market causing lower prices:
"The goose breast and leg, not only in our Hungary, but also in the West considered to be a premium product. Ducks are one and a half or two euros cheaper per kilo." – reports Világgazdaság Online.
