The producers are facing with low cherry prices
According to the producers, the tin factories offer price for cherry that is below the cost price. The Hungarian and the German export market is stagnating as well – Világgazdaság Online wrote.
The larger cooperatives and farmers decided to postpone the harvest of the cherry, after the purchasers only offered a 55 HUF per kilo starting price – Index wrote last week. The producers told that their costs are around 100 HUF, so they will rather leave the fruits on the trees, while the big factories say that they indicated earlier that the prices will be low because a high crop is expected, while in Germany tin cherry prices are falling.
