Retail sales decreased by 3.3 percent in the first eight months
In August 2010 retail turnover volume was similar to the previous year. In the first eight months of the year – on the basis of the calendar-adjusted datas – sales fell by 3.3 percent- reports the Central Statistical Office.
In the national retail store chains and mail order retailing, 662 billion HUF worth of goods were distributed in August. In the first eight months of the year, 4733 billion HUF in total sales was realized. 45 percent of the retail sales are food and food related products, 17 percent is fuel, 14 percent is furniture, household goods and construction materials – reports ProfitLine.hu.
