Plant credibility shutdown required from Bajnai
Májer János, Tokaj’s independent mayor sent an open letter to Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai, over the shutdown of public credibility of the straw-fired power plant, planned to build in Szerencs, and over the protection of the World Heritage title.
The mayor asked the prime minister in his letter, "to stop the loan process between BHD and the Hungarian Development Bank loan agreement, which can resulted that Tokaj may be the victim" He added that the loss of World Heritage title would not be the main disaster – though this would also be a shame for Hungary – but the wine-growing regions would loose their purity integrity and glory "that have not been washed out by the centuries." – reports Index.
