Hungexpo is successful
Exposition organiser Hungexpo booked a small profit of 53 million HUF in 2011 after racking up a HUF 870m loss in the previous year, CEO Gábor Ganczer announced at a press conference on Tuesday. Hungexpo’s revenue rose 25% to more than HUF 4bn, Mr Ganczer said.
About 25% of revenue came from hosting international congresses, 60% from exhibitions and 15% from other events. Last year, Hungexpo organised 26 expositions which drew 300,000 visitors. It also hosted four international congresses with about 20,000 participants who accounted for 80,000 guest nights in the capital.
