Colourful, zero-waste packaging made from soap

German designer Jonna Breitenhuber has created a line of zero-waste personal care products that come in unusual packaging — made from soap

In light of the millions of tons of packaging waste sent to landfill each year, German designer Jonna Breitenhuber has developed SOAPBOTTLE, a new line of zero-waste liquid care products, packaged in bottles made entirely out of usable soap. Each brightly coloured bottle contains 100ml of a soft and soothing body wash that is made from completely natural ingredients.

The bottles themselves are also made from organic ingredients, including natural oils and caustic soda. Once the bottle is emptied, it can be used as a regular hand soap that safely goes down the drain and decomposes in the sewage plant within days. A metal closure made from stainless steel is attached to the bottle so that the liquid does not spill out. It can be unclipped and attached to a new bottle of soap and can also be recycled when it is no longer needed. Furthermore, SOAPBOTTLE’s labels are made from recycled paper and printed with nature-inspired colours such as mint green and raspberry red.
