Inflation was 2.5 percent in November
In November, annual inflation was again 2.5 percent, compared with the previous month, consumer prices increased by 0.4 percent on average – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday. In October, inflation fell to 2.2 percent from the 2.5 percent of September.
In January-November, consumer prices rose by 2.4 percent on average, compared to the same period of last year.
In November, the price of tobacco increased by 10.9 percent and food prices by 3.4 percent over the past year.
Mináry Borbála, head of department at KSH, explained that the rise in inflation in November was caused by the rise in fuel prices, with a year-on-year comparison of 5.9 percent. Among the foods, the prices of eggs, dairy products and butter prices rose the most, which was not compensated by VAT cuts.
