Kometa closed 2025 with lower revenue but higher profit compared to the previous year – according to the report published on the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) website on Tuesday.

The annual turnover decreased from 91.39 billion forints to 87.81 billion forints, and the after-tax profit increased from 663.4 million forints to 675.3 million forints. The company sold 73.5 tons of products in 2025, with an export ratio of 41 percent.

The volume of meat and meat products sold fell by 2.2 percent domestically and 3.3 percent abroad, they wrote.

High energy prices, rising purchase prices and changes in consumer habits were highlighted among the challenges making operations more difficult.

They indicated that infrastructure, energy and sustainability projects will continue in 2026, and sales volume may increase with the inclusion of new export markets. In the longer term, based on the investment plan until 2030, Kometa could become a significant player in the European meat industry, they added.

The Kaposvár-based company, established in 2006, is one of the largest pork processors in Hungary, employs almost a thousand employees, and sells its products in 30 countries.

Kometa 99 Élelmiszeripari Zrt. is a bond issuer on the BSE, and its securities were introduced to trading in 2022.
