We need to increase the competitiveness of the dairy sector. The tighter collaboration of the sector's participants and to increase the added value is essential for the industry – said Jakab István, vice president of the National Assembly of Hungary, the Chairman of Magosz on Tuesday.
The event was organized by the Milk Marketing Board, on the occasion of the 36th Milk World Day. The domestic proffessionals would like that the domestic sales ratio would be 80 percent in Hungary and only 20 percent would come from imports. Now there are product groups where this rate exceeds 40 percent. In order to end this, the number of dairy cows should be increased to the 2003 level to 365 thousand.
