Spain exports less fruit and vegetables with growing sales

According to the Spanish Association of Exporters of Fruit and Vegetables, Fepex, Spain sold 4.7% less (4.7 million tonnes) of fresh fruit and vegetables abroad in the first four months of this year than in the same period of last year, but in addition to the decrease in volume, the sales revenue increased by 5.7% compared to the previous year (6.485 billion euros) – agrarszektor.hu wrote.

324 thousand tons of tomatoes exported by Spaniards in January-April
Vegetables accounted for 2.4 million tonnes of the total (-3.6%), while sales increased by 9.8% (3.413 billion euros). Peppers exported in a volume of 400,000 tonnes (-3% but worth 660 million euros [+ 0.3%]), lettuce (390,000 tonnes [-6%], 449 million euros [+ 8%]) and tomatoes (324 thousand tonnes [-7%], 598 million euros [+ 20%]).
