The Pig population increased in Békés County
The pig population increased in Békés County last year, after several years of decline. According to the 1 June 2014data of the Central Statistical Office (KSH), the number of pigs in Békés County increased by 4.5 percent, compared to a year before.
According to the latest 2014 1st – 3rd quarterly report of the Central Statistical Office (KSH), the rate of increase is below the nationwide average of 7.1 percent. in Békés County the number of pigs was similar in 2012, when the number of pigs was 267 thousand, 15 percent less than in 2011, when the stock was 347 thousand. The number of pigs reached its low point in 2013, when the number of pigs decreased to 254 thousand. (MTI)
