The domestic confectionery industry is growing, but the lack of staff may hamper further development
Since 2012, there has been a steady increase in the sales revenues of the Hungarian confectionery companies – according to the data of the OPTEN company information service provider. However, the decrease in the number of employees can be detectable despite the growing number of companies.
The formerly legendary Hungarian confectionery industry has passed the difficult years after the regime change. During the privatization, many foreign large companies bought domestic factories, and imports of imported goods increased significantly in domestic trading networks. It appears from company data that the sector has found its momentum since 2012.
