The number of bread and pasta manufacturing companies increased last year
At the end of last year, 1,737 bread and pasta manufacturing companies were in Hungary, 5.8 percent more than at the end of December 2009 – reported gazdasag.hu on Wednesday in reference to a database of Opten.
In the past years, 55 businesses were liquidated in the sector, one less than in 2009 and in 2008. The number of starting businesses grew to 184, compared to the 96 of the previous year.
The regulation, that came into force in February, that prohibits the large supermarket chains to sell products below cost price may improve the situation of the smaller farmers and small shops – reports gazdasag.hu.
