Fruit juice sells in the value of HUF 40 billion a year in Hungary. Last year value sales were up 1 percent but Nielsen registered minus 4 percent in volume sales for the February 2011-January 2012 period. Orange was the most popular flavour (both value and volume share were at 18 percent), followed by peach and apple (in value) and mixed fruits (in volume). Private labels were relatively strong: they had a 27-percent value share from retail sales.
