The demand for healthy, vegan snacks has increased
While consumers are increasingly demanding and exploring snacks, there is a growing consumer appetite for “guilt-free” varieties. There is also heightened scrutiny of labels for healthy ingredients and nutritional claims rise exponentially.
Be healthy, have a label
“The American and European market wants to consume more and more healthy products not only for their own well-being, but also the development of the planet is increasingly a consideration”
– can be read in the international report of Innova Market Insights.
Consumers demand that the ingredients are clearly indicated on the labels, so that they can consume as much as possible without feeling guilty.
What is it about? Labels such as “sugar-free”, “with little added sugar”, “low salt content”, “rich in protein”, “reduced fat content”, and especially in the area of biscuits, salty crackers and muesli bars, demand a healthy alternative.
Even better, the snack also protects the planet
From the newly published material, we also learn that while previously 6.7 percent of the new snacks were vegan, this year the proportion has risen to 11 percent.
Another interesting fact is that more and more people are renouncing traditional meals and eating only snacks throughout the day: 57 percent of customers decide to do so at least once a week. and that while consumers seek indulgence, adventure and taste, they are also looking for snacks that support their well-being and active lifestyles. Ultimately, this leads the way to expanding the “better for you” snacking trend.
