Demand for seedless grapes is growing
According to surveys, Hungarians eat an average of 2.5-3 kilograms of table grapes per year. In line with the trends in the world, the demand for seedless varieties is rising. Most of the supply comes from imports – the National Agricultural Chamber (NAK) told MTI on Monday.
According to the NAK’s announcement, the Hungarian grain table grapes appeared in large quantities in Hungary in the middle of August with early ripening varieties, but the proportion of domestic products is relatively low.
Stores typically offer imported table grapes, mainly Italian and small quantities of Argentine, Brazilian, Chilean, South African or Peruvian products. (MTI)
