There is no good time for Easter this year, but Auchan is hopeful
Easter has always been considered an indicator by traders, which reliably predicts the annual turnover. There are, of course, influencing factors other than the general economic environment, inflation and consumer behavior, such as whether the holiday falls at the beginning or end of the month, or how far away it is from Christmas spending. This year’s Easter can hardly be said to be lucky from both points of view, since it will be at the end of the month, when the salaries are already in short supply, and this year it is also very early – says Auchan in its statement.
“Despite all of this, we are definitely expecting an increase in traffic in March, but at the same time it is still noticeable that customers are much more sensitive to prices than before. Promotions and special offers are also important for holiday products. Since Easter is mostly about traditional fresh products, so the strongest period is the week before the holiday. Of course, we offer a wide selection of other Easter products, such as home decorations, drinks, durable foods, sweets, a few weeks before the holiday at prominent points in the stores, so that customers can buy them more easily.”
– say the experts of Auchan Hungary.
