Nielsen: competition between home and restaurant meals
Eighteen percent of the respondents surveyed by Nielsen told that they eat in restaurants at least once a week or more. Thirteen percent of the respondents eat two to three times outside of their homes, while twelve percent once a month.
So the restaurants are seriously competing with the food manufacturers and retailers for the “stomach share” of the consumers, and for their money Nielsen’s survey reveals. The survey was carried out in sixty-one countries, including in Hungary.
