Nielsen: Nearly four million condoms are sold in the summer festival season
Condom sales are on the peak during the festival season in Hungary. In July and August we spend more than 15 percent more on condoms than in the other months of the year.
The total domestic market increased by 6 percent and by 5 percent in pieces between June 2016 and May 2017, compared to the same period last year – according to Nielsen’s retail index. In fact, Hungarians bought more than 20 million condoms in one year for nearly 3.5 billion forints, at an average price of about 160 HUF. Nearly 200 kinds of condoms are available on the market.
