Nielsen: the amount that Hungarians spend on home maintenance is an European record
The Hungarians spend the most part of their monthly budgets on housing-related services among the residents of twenty-eight European countries. While in Hungary, 36 percent of the average costs usually paid for housing, the European average is 25 percent – shows Nielsen’s global internet survey.
The monthly 25 percent spent on meals is also higher than the European average, which is 21 percent.
In Hungary an average monthly eight percent goes on communications (from mobile phone to cable TV), 7 percent for routine traffic (car, public transportation in daily life). The average cost of healing takes about 4 percent away. Hungarians spend 3 percent for meal outside home, and 3 percent for savings or investments. Additional 2-2 percent goes on training or learning, household electrical appliances or consumer electronics, and for leisure / entertainment.
