Nielsen: the value and volume of food retail increased as well
The food retail trade achieved a turnover of close to 1,300 billion HUF, between December 2014 and September 2015 in the ninety product categories measured by Nielsen; 5 percent more than during the same period of the previous year. In terms of volume retail sales increased by 5 percent – the Nielsen consumer information and knowledge services company’s Retail Index reveals.
“One of the driving forces behind the large-scale expansion of the market is the above the average growth of the thirst-quenching drinks in grocery stores during the past ten months” – Szűcs-Villányi Ágnes the head of department of Nielsen informs. – “The food retail sales of only the thirst-quenching drinks increased to around 275 billion HUF from one ten-month period to the other. ”
