Nielsen: mobile devices are becoming increasingly important in e-commerce
The proportion of those who intend to buy online has doubled since 2011 in terms of consumer goods and entertainment services, such as e-books, tickets, games and sports equipment – Nielsen consumer information and knowledge services company states. Nearly half of all respondents intend to buy dress (46 percent), airline tickets (48 percent) and booking hotel rooms (44 percent) online in the next six months.
“The lightning-fast changes of digital options developed an adventurous and exploratory image of shopping online in the consumers” – John Burbank, Nielsen's president of strategic initiatives stated in respect of the trends. – “The consumers want a good product at a good price, and seemingly the virtual environment offers the limitless range of new possibilities for dealers and consumers as well.” (Nielsen)
