Nielsen: 184 million cans of coke is consumed every year
In excess of fifty billion forints, about 3 million hectoliters of cola was consumed in Hungary between July 2018 and June 2019, representing an increase of more than 10 percent in value and a 7 percent increase in volume, compared to the same period of the previous year. Manufacturer brands dominate the market. The share of own branded cola is 8 percent – the Nielsen retail index reveals.
Cola accounts for more than sixty percent of the total turnover of carbonated soft drinks in Hungary. The 300 million liters of soft drinks are typically (60 percent) purchased in stores larger than 400 square meters.
