Nielsen: Hungarians ate 18 million frozen pizzas over a year
Between July 2017 and June 2018, 18 million frozen pizzas were sold in Hungary in value over eight billion forints. This exceeds the value of the same period of the previous year by nearly 20 percent, and the Nielsen retail index registered in double-digit growth in volume as well. Most frozen pizzas were bought by Hungarians in and around Budapest.
The frozen version of the national food of the Italians is popular among the Hungarians: in the period under review we bought frozen pizzas in a value of more than eight billion forints, which is a 17 percent increase. This means 6000 tonnes of pizza, which is a 12 percent increase, compared to the same period of last year. (Nielsen)
