NGM: retail sales are stagnating or decreasing throughout Europe
The unfavorable retail data is not only a Hungarian phenomenon, the trend is typical in many other countries and regions of Europe – the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) told by evaluating the most recent datas.
According to the Central Statistical Office, in September retail sales volumes fell by 3.1 percent, compared to last September and in the first nine months of the year it was 1.5 percent below the datas of the same period of the previous year.
The NGM highlights: although this September, the total retail sales decreased by 3.1 percent, there are numerous sub-sector that are expanding, such as the sectors of industrial products, textiles or perfumery trade. The mail order and online retail trade continues to soar – emphasizes the ministry. (MTI)
