NGM State Secretary: artificial intelligence has become part of everyday life
Digitization is a priority sector, artificial intelligence (AI) has become part of everyday life – said Richárd Szabados, the State Secretary responsible for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and technology at the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) at the Tech Week – Forum for Competitiveness and Technology event in Budapest, organized in the framework of the EU presidency.
According to Richárd Szabados, it is already visible that the use of AI solutions increases competitiveness and efficiency.
The forum examines the impact of AI on competitiveness, and focuses on how artificial intelligence changes business and economic life, what advantages and challenges its impact brings, and what opportunities it holds in terms of competitiveness.
Emphasis will also be placed on the relevant legal environment, especially the recently adopted MI decree and its future implementation – explained the state secretary. It will be an opportunity to learn about good practices, share experiences, and discuss challenges, he added.
Szabolcs Szolnok, NGM’s deputy state secretary responsible for technology, emphasized that the key to economic competitiveness is artificial intelligence (AI). Based on forecasts, 40 percent of workplaces will be transformed by AI, the most affected being the highly qualified workforce. Starting with food production, health care, pharmaceutical research and finance, AI plays a role in every segment of economic life.
At the same time, it is necessary to prepare to deal with the challenges – he emphasized. In August, the AI Act came into force in the European Union, i.e. the artificial intelligence (AI) regulation. The purpose of the legislation is to create a balance between promoting technological development and guaranteeing the conditions for safe application.
According to the Hungarian point of view, the AI Decree provides a strong legal framework for the safe and responsible use of AI – explained Szabolcs Szolnoki. According to his announcement, he represents Hungary in the EU body assisting the implementation of the decree.
