NETA for you…the sweet life!

István Justin
managing director
Szamos Marcipán
Hungarian businesses need to cope not only with the problem of the workforce shortage and regulations changing all the time, but also with the planned increase in the public health product tax (NETA) – backed with the demagogic communication that the goals are a healthier lifestyle and improving the culture of consumption. It isn’t exactly a sweet life: the VAT is the highest in Europe and now the NETA rate will also increase…
This step didn’t come at the right time for me either, as after 12 years of absence I have returned to the confectionery sector, as Szamos Marcipán Kft.’s managing director. This is a real honour for me, and I will be working hard for raising the level of Hungarian chocolate production and the culture of chocolate consumption.. //
