Nestlé expands Bük production facility from 20 billion forints
In the last seven years Nestlé Hungary invested more than HUF 43 billion in increasing the production capacity of the factory in Bük. Thanks to these efforts Nestlé Purina’s production facility has become one of the biggest pet food factories in Europe. More than 90 percent of the products made here are exported. There are 900 people working in the Bük factory.

As for the new development, the fully automated production unit uses cutting-edge technology to process ingredients supplied by Hungarian farmers to make more than 1 million products a day. Every day more than 50 trucks leave the factor to transport pet food to 42 countries all over the world. Two new filling and packaging lines in a 5,000m² production hall are the result of the new investment.
Bernard Meunier, CEO of Nestlé Purina PetCare in Europe, Middle East and Africa told: 60 percent of the agricultural raw material used in the Bük factory comes from Hungarian suppliers – this means more than 78,000 tons a month. Nestlé Hungary exports 15 times more goods than it imports. The company employs 2,400 people in Hungary: in the Budapest headquarters and in the three factories (Bük, Diósgyőr, Szerencs). (x)
