The Danes will choose their National food

The Danes will soon have their very own official national dish after the food minister Dan Jørgensen announced that he has launched a nationwide vote to find the dish that represents Denmark the best.

“I hope that the vote about Denmark’s national dish will get the Danes to discuss the Danish food culture with their colleagues in the canteens and with family and friends around the kitchen table at home,” Jørgensen said in a press release.

Over the next two weeks, Danes are invited to make suggestions and voice their opinions on the social media Facebook and Instagram. Eight selected chefs from eight different regions will then develop three recipes each from which the best one will make it through to the national final. The eight-recipe line-up will be revealed on November 20. (MTI)
