In Germany, Ritter Sport chocolate can only be square
Milka managed to remove the trademark for the Ritter Sport’s shape in 2016, but this decision has now been overturned – origo wrote, after BBC.
The shape of the Ritter Sport chocolate can be traced back to 1932, when Clara Ritter came up with the idea to make a chocolate that would fit in a coat pocket.
The family-owned product was registered in 1933 with the German Patent and Trademark Office.
In 1970, the slogan “square, practical and good” was added. (origo)
