Companies may be suspected of antitrust infringements even if they do not communicate with each other – was said at an online event organized by the Hungarian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at which Dr. Horányi Márton, competition law partner of Baker McKenzie International Law Firm, gave a presentation. Increasingly, companies, from HR to pricing algorithms, need to ensure compliance with competition rules.
In the past, competition authorities have typically sanctioned sales cartels, ie the coordination of sales prices of otherwise competing firms. At the same time, competition law is constantly evolving and more and more behaviors are coming to the forefront of public authorities that may raise suspicions of antitrust infringements.
