No major price reductions are expected in stores
In the catering industry, they have already fled bankruptcy before – Pénzcentrum learned from the Association of Hungarian Hotels and Restaurants. According to the Hungarian National Trade Association, the suppliers of Hungarian stores have fallen into an energy trap, so it is quite difficult to reduce prices.
Although the winter was mild, which can also be seen in the utility bills of the Hungarian population, the situation of domestic businesses was not helped at all by one of the mildest winter periods of the century. Moreover, according to energy expert József Balogh, the problems are just beginning, for example in the catering industry.
“Just a few days ago, a catering client came to me to help me. He had paid roughly HUF 237,000 so far, and now the bill came out to 2.7 million. Since it is a small cafe, and if this bill is legitimate, then they practically got it, they went bankrupt”
– the expert told the Pénzcentrum, according to whom the bankruptcy wave will start in the country now, in March-April.
“Now, most of the consumers will start to wonder, “My God, how much the price of electricity and gas has risen!” When these are transferred to the current market conditions, then the tenfold invoices will come. You have no money, you can’t pay, you close.”
– explained József Balogh, according to whom the problem is mainly that many corporate consumers had their old contracts with the service provider until December 31.
