Home-made pálinka was really popular last year
The distilleries produced 8.8 million liters of fifty percent pálinka, while many have decided to produce their own pálinka at home with their own pots – Magyar Idők Online wrote.
The quantity tells us that demand for home-made pálinka is rising, because last year’s data, if only slightly, but exceeding the value of one year earlier. An interesting phenomenon is that the number of distilleries has continuously changed in recent years. At some time, almost six hundred units were operating in the country, but there is a slight downturn nowadays. Their number in mid-February was 568 according to the National Tax and Customs Office (NAV). (Jakubász Tamás, magyaridok.hu)
