The Ministry of National Economy does not expect serious inflation
The consumer price trend is in line with the estimate of the Ministry of National Economy (NGM). The Ministry does not expect serious inflation in the rest of the year. For the entire year the ministry expects an about 0 percent inflation and price stability – Orbán Gábor, Minister of State responsible for tax and financial matters said at a press conference in Budapest.
He explained: According to recent data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH), the consumer prices slightly increased by 0.6 percent in Hungary, but this price increase is almost unnoticeable in everyday life. In May, inflation turned positive. Before that, consumer prices decreased for eight months, due to the overhead reduction and low energy prices. (MTI)
